Etherape and Ethereal were played around with. Nak updated some firmware for a remote router, we like doing favors. Penguin got to browsing 4chan and we came across several crazy pics and animations including Two Crazy Robots. Penguin brought his Toshiba tablet running windows 95 after an upgrade from 3.1.

This meeting was a little larger than the last. The meeting was pretty much a card printing/writing/reading extravaganza. l3gitimateuser and associates brought all kinds of goodies. They brought a smart chip reader, a Fargo card printer, and a mag strip writer/reader. We were able to read a phoenix metro bus card, and find the expiration date in the data. One could change this date and re-enable a card with a writer of such, it doesn’t appear that our bus system employs a checksum system, not that we would know or anything
. We later headed over to get something to eat (Mexican food this time).

This was a much smaller 2600 meeting. We were moved to a different room at UAT. Zapperlink brought his PSP and talked about some of the cool unconventional things that could be done with it. Zap also brought an Intel goodie. Rax brought a live Project Looking glass, but the computer at UAT wouldn’t boot it. Dual Parallel brought some phone numbers. I did another demo of the blue/red/silver box. We collectively made a bunch of stupid jokes at the expense of the movie Hackers, it may have something to do with the fact that there is a rave coming up using the name hackers. After the meeting, most of us headed to YC’s to get something to eat, revelations were had by most. Then about half of the group headed to Counter Culture for a little while.

This was just Ugly and I meeting at Nicks. We later drove to Apache Reclamation and browsed the place. Ugly bought a transformer (115V primary, 12,000V secondary). There was some really cool gear there.

This meeting took place at UAT. Nak and MadManX brought their cardreader devices and got them working at the meeting. Somebody else brought some embeded gear that they were trying to get to work. I brought my basic stamp with a combo blue/red/silver box programmed into it. After the meeting a few of us (Legitimate_User, Sgnome, Empty, and I) went to Subculture cafe to get something to eat.

I don’t remember a whole lot about this meeting. This meeting took place at Nicks Pizza. Rax gave RetroTech a server for the phx2600 PBX project, although retro has since pulled out of the project.

Our last meeting at Borders. ZEROcool brought his Xbox, we didn’t get the chance to softmod it due to Nicks not having the remote for their TV. Zapperlink brought his PSP with some more “updates” straight outa Japan. Rax brought hacker stickers in several languages. There was talk about defcon. We traveled over to Nicks pizza early. Jargon had a presentation on gambling. We tripped out w/3D glasses and an oldskool laptop. IamtheEvil1 rode on the mechanical horse for his B-day. What was left of us headed over to Counter Culture to chill for a little longer. What was left of that crowd (Zapperlink and I) went to IHOP.

2600 hangout (2550 meeting)- We met at nicks pizza. Some gear brought was a cable card, some shims, and a nice new bootable distro of WHAX. WHAX didn’t work to well on a sony laptop though. We “picked” a combo lock with the shim. Later on Ugly and I went wardriving to the Sonic Drive-ins, no luck though.

We met in the back of Borders this time (we were on the schedule!). LosT brought his soldering station and some embedded network components to solder together, so we had a little soldering workshop. People that didn’t know how to solder, and wanted to know, knew by the time they left. We did some general talking about embedded systems and talked about Make magazine a little. There was talk about defcon 13. We later went to Nicks, surprisingly enough, I think the group got bigger when we met there. While at Nicks, Nak busted out his ham gear and evil1 and Nak were talking to random people the could find through the waves. We had some talk about the stumble upon toolbar. Lots of creative discussion about barcodes (later in the night). After a while, Nak came back around and we had some pre-4th of July celebrations with a block of sodium. Maybe next time: Soap in a microwave }:>

We are now getting to big for the Borders coffee shop; they want a group our size to be scheduled. So, we are going to get on the schedule. In this meeting we had a lot of gear donated to Zapperlink for a group community project: Making a emulated gaming system for a daycare. Rax did a presentation on a replacement OS for LinkSys WAP/Router. ZEROcool brought an ipod with Linux dual booted on it (it didn’t have sound support though, funny irony). Colin brought a super rugged lappy.
