Meeting tonight starting at 6pm! See the Meeting Info page for more info.

February 2010 Meeting History

This meeting was a particularly large meeting. Most “active” members were there at some point throughout the night and several of us overflowed outside. AltF4 gave his advanced presentation on cryptography, Zapperlink brought an Intel I7 powered laptop and an Atom powered IP phone, Rax gave away a couple of shirts (I got the Android one, woohoo!) and other miscellaneous conversations went on as well.

August 2008 Meeting History

Our meeting time and location has been added back into magazine. General talk on lock picking given by ThatGuy. Evil1 brought a white paper on advanced SQL injection. Zapperlink has returned. A lengthy discussion occurred in part of our group on how we are more than hackers; a community; a family. Finally, welcome to some new attendees: HalfSight, TerrorDrone, and Jory.

November 2005 Meeting History

This was a much smaller 2600 meeting. We were moved to a different room at UAT. Zapperlink brought his PSP and talked about some of the cool unconventional things that could be done with it. Zap also brought an Intel goodie. Rax brought a live Project Looking glass, but the computer at UAT wouldn’t boot it. Dual Parallel brought some phone numbers. I did another demo of the blue/red/silver box. We collectively made a bunch of stupid jokes at the expense of the movie Hackers, it may have something to do with the fact that there is a rave coming up using the name hackers. After the meeting, most of us headed to YC’s to get something to eat, revelations were had by most. Then about half of the group headed to Counter Culture for a little while.

Attendance count: 10-12

August 2005 Meeting History

Our last meeting at Borders. ZEROcool brought his Xbox, we didn’t get the chance to softmod it due to Nicks not having the remote for their TV. Zapperlink brought his PSP with some more “updates” straight outa Japan. Rax brought hacker stickers in several languages. There was talk about defcon. We traveled over to Nicks pizza early. Jargon had a presentation on gambling. We tripped out w/3D glasses and an oldskool laptop. IamtheEvil1 rode on the mechanical horse for his B-day. What was left of us headed over to Counter Culture to chill for a little longer. What was left of that crowd (Zapperlink and I) went to IHOP.

Attendance count: About 20-25

June 2005 Meeting History

We are now getting to big for the Borders coffee shop; they want a group our size to be scheduled. So, we are going to get on the schedule. In this meeting we had a lot of gear donated to Zapperlink for a group community project: Making a emulated gaming system for a daycare. Rax did a presentation on a replacement OS for LinkSys WAP/Router. ZEROcool brought an ipod with Linux dual booted on it (it didn’t have sound support though, funny irony). Colin brought a super rugged lappy.

Attendance count: About 25+

April 2005 Meeting History

RetroTech brought his Tandy laptop, it had DOS 3.3 and only 7 files on the “storage” space (50K worth). The lappy boots up in less than 5 seconds though, the video should be up on the April 2005 pictures page. We fixed the power adapter by soldering it back together. I tried a floppy drive hardware hack, but screwed up, now retro has no floppy…sorry retro. Zapperlink brought a PSP and showed us a browser hack for it. Sgnome brought a huge antenna, there should be pictures of it. Nak and his buddies brought a ham radio. Also, greyarea was there, cool he could make it this time. Oh yeah, Zapperlinks daughter (Trinity) tried out picking locks…she’s not even 2 yet!…again, pictures on the picture section :)

December 2004 Meeting History

It seems the theme of this meeting was barcodes. I brought in about 30 “universal” VIP cards that have a VIP code for 3 different grocery stores, the other barcode is an “easter egg.” RAX brought his scanner and a laptop equip with some java software that can decode the 2d barcode on the back of a drivers ID, so we played with that. dec33var brought a few 1d barcode scanners with him. Zapperlink had some great info on Krypto. Also rhy0t brought some lock picks and a couple locks, we tried picking them for a while, she was the only one to get both locks, a few of us got the easier master(?)lock (I got it, yay me).

Attendance count: About 12-15
