Rax gave a presentation on Tomato custom firmware and a talk was also given on DD-WRT custom firmware. Both for the Linksys WRT54G series of home routers. PHLAK, baby Breach and Huertanix went over code for the Haystack Project. Also, Dual made an appearance.
We are now getting to big for the Borders coffee shop; they want a group our size to be scheduled. So, we are going to get on the schedule. In this meeting we had a lot of gear donated to Zapperlink for a group community project: Making a emulated gaming system for a daycare. Rax did a presentation on a replacement OS for LinkSys WAP/Router. ZEROcool brought an ipod with Linux dual booted on it (it didn’t have sound support though, funny irony). Colin brought a super rugged lappy.
Attendance count: About 25+
The coolest thing by far at the meeting was Rax’s AIBO. The next coolest things were meme’s and slipnaway’s graphics. Lots of new attendees. Highlights: 802.11 networking at the meeting, how to DoS a Linksys router with nmap, and the Gameworks riddle solved.
